Maintains all signs on all City streets which consist of 2,027 as of January
1, 2003. Separate from our regular sign maintenance, we are required by the
State to have in place a Stop Sign Maintenance and Replacement Program. We
have 644 stop signs within the City limits.

Maintains the Stormwater Drainage system. After each rain two three-man crews
clean all drop boxes or open top drain boxes. There are 221 drop boxes on the
north side of Main Street (KY 94) and 305 on the south side for a total of
526.

Handles
the free brush pick-up in the spring, which requires three employees for eight
weeks.

Handles
the free leaf pick-up in the fall, which consists of seven employees for
approximately ten weeks.

Mows
all City right-of-ways, some State right-of-ways, vacant lots that are in
violation of City Ordinance, and two City-owned Parks. This requires three
men throughout the summer months.

Installs all driveway culverts for new residents and replaces driveway culverts
throughout the City.

Repairs
all potholes and utility cuts made by the Water and Gas Departments.

Cleans
out all debris from creeks throughout the City with a crew of three men.

Operates two snowplows and two salt and cinder spreaders in the winter months
going down both sides of each road for a total of 146.6 miles. There is a Snow
Removal Plan in place. We average 3 snows during a winter season.

Replaces and constructs new sidewalks throughout the City.

and does all prep work prior to the Yearly Paving Program.
