Bill Wells, Mayor

Welcome to the official
government website for the
City of Murray, Kentucky!
Greetings. I am Bill Wells, Mayor of the City of Murray.
Having lived
and served as a member of this community for more than 30 years, as the
first Director of the Murray Family Resource, former Murray High School
Principal, City Councilman of 18 years, and co-founder of "Murray Make A
Difference Day", Murray is my home and I welcome you.
The Murray
community offers multiple shopping centers, two parks, a wide variety of
restaurants, concerts, a historic downtown district, a number of religious
organizations, and even a community theater. Additionally, Murray State
University, home of the Racers, is located in Murray, providing a number of
cultural, educational, and collegiate sporting activities. In support of
these services and attractions, the City of Murray maintains a fine set of
police, fire, sanitation, water, wastewater, natural gas and street
services.
If you live here, work here, or are visiting, we hope to
provide you with the best services. We think Murray is a great place to do
all three, and we hope you will think so, too!
Thank you for visiting
