Hello and welcome to the Murray Police Department. This website is designed to provide you with an overview of the services that the Murray Police Department offers to the citizens of Murray and Calloway County. It also provides information on new and exciting projects that are being developed by this department. New and innovative approaches to law enforcement are developed each year throughout the country and as we become a more proactive and progressive agency we welcome the community?s input. Murray Police Department Achieves Accreditation Status

In April 2007 the Murray Police Department achieved accreditation from the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police. The self-evaluation and comprehensive assessment of the agency's operations reflects that the Murray Police Department was carefully measured against an established set of standards and has met or exceeded acceptable practices in law enforcement.

Applications Now Being Accepted For Citizens Academy Class 004

Citizens Police Academy class 004 will begin on Monday February 4th, 2007. This popular eight-week class touches on all aspects of law enforcement as it relates to the community. Each week a different topic is discussed and classes meet each Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This class will fill quickly so please register early. A registration form can be downloaded by clicking on "Citizens Police" in the upper right corner of this webpage. Applications can also be picked up at the Murray Police Department.
