Felon Work Program

The Class D Felony Work Program is a tremendous help to the City of Murray. Eight to ten Class D workers from the Calloway County Jail are employed by the Street Department. The Street Department could not do all the tasks above with only nine Street Department employees. This program has been a very valuable benefit to the City. We are grateful to Phil Hazel, Jailer at the Calloway County Jail. This program has been a lifesaver for the City for years because of the limited funds to hire new employees. A pat on the back goes out to the Class D Program and its supporters. These ten workers do not cost the City of Murray. We are not responsible for their insurance, workers compensation, or food. They are absolutely free. Lets do all we can to support this program.
