Child Safety Seats
The Murray Police Department Child Safety Seat Inspection Station is provided as a public service so that parents or caregivers can receive expertise from certified child safety seat technicians. When visiting the inspection station, a certified technician will check the seat to insure that it is the correct type and size based on your child's age, weight, and height. Technicians will also show you how to properly install the seat and advise you as to the best location within your vehicle to install the seat. Seats will also be checked to insure that they are not under recall for any reason. In certain instances replacement child safety seats may be available based on need. Anyone who would like to utilize the service is urged to follow these suggestions:
1. Call Murray Police Department to make an appointment at 270-753-1621. Individuals with a broken car seat may come to the station without an appointment and a technician will assist you immediately. All other inspections must be done by appointment.
2. Bring your child with you to the appointment.
3. Bring each child in the safety seat or booster seat they currently use.
