Training
This branch of the Murray Fire Department is
coordinated by the Training Officer. Training is based on departmental
procedures and standards required by the Kentucky Fire Commission. Each
new recruit receives 400 hours of standardized training before being
certified and placed on shift. Certified firefighters receive a minimum of
one hundred hours of training each year to maintain certification and
receive educational incentive from the Kentucky Fire Commission. It is the
goal of the administration of the Murray Fire Department to provide the
best, most up-to-date training available to insure the safety of the
employees and the best possible service to citizens and businesses of
Murray.
