Q. Where do I apply for a burn permit?

Q. Does it cost anything to apply for a burn permit?
A. There is no charge for a burn permit.

Q. Is there a certain time of the day I can burn?
A. The State of Kentucky sets burning laws from February 15 - April 30 and October 1 - December 15. During these times, no one is permitted to burn until after 6:00 p.m. You may burn anytime of the day throughout the rest of the year providing you obtain a burn permit.

Q. Can I burn leaves in the City of Murray?
A. No, leaves are not allowed to be burned in the City of Murray.

Q. Where do I apply for a firefighter position?
A. Apply at Murray City Hall, 104 N. 5th St, see Gail Mullins, Personnel manager for the City.

Q. What are the requirements to become a firefighter?
A. You must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and hold a valid Kentucky drivers license.

Q. What is the starting salary for a firefighter?
A. $20,976.00/Year (Noncertified Rate) Upon receiving certification, a firefighter will receive an additional incentive pay of $3100 annually.
