Neighborhood Emergency Action Teams (NEAT)

The Murray Fire Department is launching a new training program for the public. The Neighborhood Emergency Action Teams or NEAT are designed to train citizens to prepare for and respond effectively to disasters in their homes and neighborhoods until professional responders arrive.

This is a 6 week course covering disaster preparedness, basic fire suppression, disaster medical operations and basic search and rescue. The classes are one night per week and last approximately 2 hours.  Classes will be held in early spring and late summer each year with the first class starting in August 2014.  Classes will be limited to 20 participants.  Applications may be obtained at Fire Department Administration, 207 South 5th Street or by clicking here and submitting electronically.  If you are submitting the form electronically you must use Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser. Completed applications should be submitted by Friday, August 1, 2014. 

You will also need to print and complete the Hold Harmless/Permission Request Form.  This form will need to be hand delivered or mailed to Fire Department Administration, 207 South 5th Street, Murray KY 42071 by Friday, August 1, 2014.
